About the Role:

As the Lighting Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the lighting design and execution of the project from start to finish. You will oversee the integration of lighting systems into the museum's exhibits, ensuring that every space is brought to life with precision and creativity. Working closely with designers, engineers, and contractors, you'll ensure that the lighting enhances the immersive experience while maintaining the project's technical and aesthetic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lighting Design & Coordination: Lead the lighting design process, ensuring the lighting strategy aligns with the museum's overall design, exhibition requirements, and visitor experience goals.
  • Technical Oversight: Manage the installation and commissioning of lighting systems, ensuring flawless execution and alignment with the technical specifications.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work alongside architects, designers, and other technical teams to seamlessly integrate lighting into the overall museum design.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the scheduling and execution of lighting installations, ensuring everything is completed on time and to the highest standards.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular checks to ensure that all lighting systems meet the desired performance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management: Coordinate with lighting suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and installation of the lighting systems.
  • Post-Installation Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting after installation to ensure systems remain operational and meet the project's long-term goals.
  • Project Management: Manage timelines, resources, and budgets related to the lighting scope of the project.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience as a Lighting Manager or similar role, with specific expertise in museum and exhibition lighting.
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of lighting technologies, systems, and design principles, particularly in the context of museums, galleries, or cultural institutions.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong ability to lead and manage complex lighting installations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborative Approach: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with architects, designers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure lighting solutions meet the project's creative and technical needs.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve lighting-related technical issues during both installation and post-installation phases.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to ensuring the highest quality lighting design and performance standards.
  • Qualifications: A degree or certification in lighting design, electrical engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
