Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Head Office

Department: Facilities Management

Core Purpose of the Job:

To oversee the technical and administrative aspects of facility operations, ensuring the maintenance and efficient management of MEP systems across multiple properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Operational Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Monitor HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, elevators, and electrical systems for compliance and efficiency.
  • Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and performance analysis to ensure seamless facility operations.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion.
  • Manage service providers and subcontractors to uphold high-quality standards in maintenance services.
  • Prepare technical RFPs, tenders, and oversee site visits with service providers.

Administrative & Contract Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage subcontractors and service providers, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Utilize ERP systems for procurement, contract management, and maintenance tracking.
  • Submit technical reports, budget plans, and maintenance schedules for management review.
  • Work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure seamless facility operations.

Compliance & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for operational risks.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives to enhance facility efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Facilities Management or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in mall facility management as a Mechanical or Facility Engineer.

Key Competencies:

  • Expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and MEP systems.
  • Strong contract and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency maintenance situations effectively.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, AutoCAD, and CAFM systems.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills for dealing with contractors and internal teams.

Preferred Certifications (a plus):

  • NEBOSH or IOSH Certification.
  • MEP System Certification.

Work Environment:

  • Regular office hours with field visits and emergency response requirements as needed.
