The role holder is responsible for ensuring smooth operations, pre-opening and handover of the concerned asset in order to achieve the overall hospitality and organizational specific targets and in accordance with the overall guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Planning and Budgeting
  • Identifies the operational requirements for pre-opening based on organizational and asset specific plans and requirements.
  • Develops pre-opening budgets (OS&E) based on the identified requirements and identifies the required resources including manpower requirements in accordance with the budgetary aspects.
  • Develops implementation plans (including reporting and monitoring plans) to achieve the overall pre-opening goals.
  • Coordinates with various stakeholders to develop various operational strategy and plans e.g. pricing strategy.
  • Develops plans and strategy for opening of various assets / facilities / services.
  • Develops plans for the Grand Opening and also oversees dry runs for the opening.
Pre-Opening Planning & Operations
  • Develops the required organizational / functional structure based on pre-opening requirements.
  • Manages the housing and manning requirements, manages the recruitment process for pre-opening operations and resourcing, procurement and documentation of OS&E.
  • Undertakes Architectural operational review – Front of the house, back of the house, handicap room details, ingress / regress details etc.
  • Ensures property's readiness for all inspections, categorization and certifications as planned and leads the process of application and procurement of licenses, lease for operations.
  • Develops the pre-opening checklist and identifies the critical path for the same while ensuring that the same are met in accordance with the applicable timelines and budget.
  • Identifies various operations related equipment requirements (e.g. Laundry) / installations and ensures that the same are addressed by assisting with the procurement / coordination process.
  • Develops the requisite marketing campaigns (ads and promotions).
  • Is responsible for and oversees the installation of FF&E and OS&E.
  • Develops / Assists in developing the pre-opening marketing and communication plans.
  • Undertakes negotiations and coordination with vendors with regards to the pre-opening related procurement.
  • Oversees the opening ceremony and ensures smooth conduct of the same, while coordinating with required stakeholders.
  • Oversees / Undertakes post opening operations and audits while ensuring effective handover of the same to the concerned stakeholders.
  • Oversees / undertakes the recruitment, selection, training etc. of hotel staff.
  • Assists in developing concerned policies and guidelines pertaining to various opening and hotel operational activities.
  • Monitors the various operational systems e.g. IT / Finance / HR etc. to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitors and reports various pre-opening related metrics.
  • Manages various risks (operational, resources, business, system etc.) associated with pre-opening and ensures effective mitigation of the same.
  • Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet productivity & goals.
  • Proactively communicate on payment/delivery status, issues & risks to management.
  • Work collaboratively with operations executive to ensure that all communications between operator and owner are precise.
Post Opening Hotel Operations
  • Oversees the post opening hotel operations in a comprehensive and objective manner.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable operational standards and guidelines (e.g. room cleanliness) and undertakes required inspections.
  • Coordinates with regards to property maintenance activities and ensures effective upkeep of various attributes including equipment.
  • Perform other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Hospitality Corporate Operations Director in order to meet organizational objectives.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Adherence to pre-opening budgets.
  • Consolidates P&P to be Develop – Implement – Monitor according to AK guidelines.
  • Assuring Brand standards are Develop – Implement – Monitor according to AK guidelines.
  • Deviation from SLAs / process guidelines.
  • Guest Satisfaction Percentage.
  • Increase in Sales.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related fields.
  • A range of 10-12 years in relevant experience.
  • Experience in managing pre-opening operations of various high-end assets is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent Arabic and English written and spoken.
