Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Technical Supervisor to lead the establishment of our new materials testing laboratory in Saudi Arabia. This is a strategic leadership role requiring both technical expertise and business acumen to drive the lab's setup, accreditation, and commercial success.
While this role involves building the lab from the ground up, the successful candidate will have strong support from our well-established operations in Oman, including access to technical knowledge, documentation, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Setup & Compliance: Oversee the establishment of the lab, secure regulatory approvals, and set up testing equipment while ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
- Business Development: Promote the lab's services, engage with potential clients, and generate business opportunities.
- Team Recruitment & Leadership: Hire, train, and lead a high-performing technical team.
- Operational Excellence: Implement efficient processes, maintain quality control, and work towards ISO 17025 accreditation with guidance from the Oman team.
- Facility Location Proposal: Search and propose the best facility location for the lab; final selection will be made by the company.
- Budget & Procurement: Plan and manage resources effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and timely procurement of equipment and consumables.
- Collaboration with Oman Operations: Leverage the expertise, documents, and knowledge base of our well-established Oman laboratory to streamline setup and operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Saudi Arabian laboratory industry.
- 10+ years of overall experience in materials testing, with a strong background in laboratory operations.
- Experience in setting up or managing a testing lab is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 accreditation requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and business development skills.
- Fluent in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage).
