The Security Managed Services Engineer (L2) is a developing engineering role, responsible for providing a managed service to clients to ensure that their Security Infrastructures and systems remain operational.

Through the proactive monitoring, identifying, investigating, and resolving of technical incidents and problems, this role is able to restore service to clients.

The primary objective of this role is to proactively review client requests or tickets and apply technical/process knowledge to resolve them without breaching service level agreement (SLA) and focuses on second-line support for incidents and requests with a medium level of complexity.

The Security Managed Services Engineer (L2) may also contribute to/support on project work as and when required.

What you'll be doing

The Security Engineer is responsible for safeguarding the organization's computer networks and systems. They plan and implement security measures to protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure networking solutions to protect against advanced cyber threats.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and configure network security systems, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct regular system tests and ensure continuous monitoring of network security.
• Develop and implement organization-wide best practices for IT security.
• Respond to network security breaches and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches.
• Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on network security matters.
• Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE, NSE.
• Proven work experience as a Security Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
• Familiarity with web-related technologies and network/web-related protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools, such as:
  • F5 LTM + AWF
  • Palo Alto Firewall
  • Cisco Secure Malware Analytics
  • Cisco FTD
  • Secure VPN
  • Cisco ACS, ISE
  • Enterprise network architecture
  • Common routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• CCIE Security.
• Experience with cloud services and security.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell.
