Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Director to join our team. The Finance Director will work directly under the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting activities of the company, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires a deep understanding of multi-asset fund management, financial regulations, and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • a. Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts to the CFO.
    • b. Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    • c. Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • a. Assist in the development and management of the annual budget.
    • b. Monitor and report on budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
    • c. Develop and update financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • a. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
    • b. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and examinations.
    • c. Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  4. Investment Oversight:
    • a. Support the management of multi-asset funds, including monitoring performance and risk.
    • b. Assist in the preparation of investment reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • c. Collaborate with the fund accounting team to review fund-level financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
    • d. Provide guidance and support on complex accounting issues related to fund investments, valuations, and performance reporting.
    • e. Contribute to the development and implementation of fund accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
  5. Internal Controls and Risk Management:
    • a. Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • b. Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective risk management practices.
    • c. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:
    • a. Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
    • b. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • c. Lead or participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  7. Strategic Planning and Decision Support:
    • a. Collaborate with the CFO and executive team on strategic financial planning.
    • b. Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions.
    • c. Evaluate financial implications of new business opportunities and initiatives.

Qualifications:


  • • Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) with strong IFRS knowledge.

  • • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • • 7+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 5+ years in a regulated financial institution or similar setting.

  • • Proven leadership experience within a finance function.

  • • Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis within a multi-asset investment environment.

  • • Experience with accounting software packages, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or similar ERP systems), advanced Microsoft Excel skills are expected.

  • • Comfortable working with online workflow management tools in a digitally enabled environment.

  • • Deep understanding of multi-asset fund structures, investment strategies, and related financial regulations.

  • • Familiarity with fund accounting, valuation, and performance measurement best practices.

  • • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing finance teams.

  • • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, effectively conveying complex financial information.

  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
