Amazon Data Services India Private Limited ("ADSIPL"), Karnataka Global Field Operations (GFO) provides the best end-to-end support for AWS products and services in non-traditional environments including Outposts Services. ADSIPL GFO brings native AWS services, infrastructure, and operating models to virtually any data center, co-location space, or customer on-premises facility and edge sites. Customers can now use the same AWS APIs, tools, and infrastructure across their on-premises and the AWS cloud to deliver a truly consistent hybrid experience.

We are looking for a GFO Technician who is an experienced and highly motivated Data Center Technician to install and support AWS deployments in non-traditional environments. As an ADSIPL GFO technician, you will maintain and operate the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure across a number of local and remote locations within India and APJC region.

1. Build relationships with internal teams and customers along with innovating effective solutions to meet issues & problems as they arise.
2. Conducting site assessments at various facilities to proactively prepare for the onsite installation of AWS equipment.
3. Installing/expanding/provisioning AWS infrastructure at the third-party premises, data center, and/or non-traditional environment.
4. Troubleshooting network installations & configurations and performing network testing, break/fix and/or decommissioning and solving complex problems.
5. Proactively identifying and implementing strategies that prevent support issues and/or further enhance the customer experience.
6. Communicating in English, Hindi and regional language as needed, to conduct day-to-day business, both internally and with external customers.
7. Required travel up to 50% on average - domestic and international. You will be required to travel between locations to install, service, and retrieve AWS equipment.
8. Physical ability to push and/or pull heavy objects into position (regularly lift up to 18kg and participate in team lifts of 30 kg).
9. May lead or participate in efforts to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tools that improve operational efficiencies.
10. May lead larger projects that require cross-functional alignment and support, including large-DC installations, global-reaching business initiatives, and/or development of mechanisms to support growth to ensure compliance with global group standards.
11. May be required to work at height to maintain AWS infrastructure equipment while adhering to AWS health & safety guidelines.
12. Most of all, you will have a passion for technology along with a desire to be the best at your job every day

1. 4+ years of experience in data center operations or a similar technical environment.
2. 2+ years of hands-on experience with data center equipment and rack installation.
3. Basic knowledge of Linux servers, networking fundamentals (Layer 1/Layer 2), and TCP/IP.
4. 2+ years of experience working in a program management capacity and/or leading large-scale complex projects.
5. English, Hindi and regional language proficiency is required.

1. Degree in a technical field or 4+ years of relevant experience.
2. Experience in a customer-facing role, with the proven ability to manage and effectively communicate expectations to clients.
3. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex IT problems and identify root causes.
4. Knowledge of power, cooling, cabling, networking hardware, inventory management, and automation.
5. Proficiency in network operating systems (Cisco IOS, NX-OS, Junos).
6. Industry server and network certifications (CompTIA, CCNA/CCNP, etc.).
