The Data Protection & Privacy Manager (designated DPO) establishes the necessary Data Privacy Frameworks to drive the data privacy programs over ejada's practices, ensuring that the handling, management, and processing of data adheres to privacy policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Oversee ejada's RoPA register and ensure that all processing activities are captured and governed.
  • Provide inputs into suitable data retention requirements for personal data and ensure retention periods are applied and followed across ejada.
  • Assess and validate security controls captured during the RoPA exercise and ensure they maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data across ejada.
  • Manage and oversee customer and employee consent requests and ensure they are fulfilled in line with the KSA PDPL.
  • Oversee Data Subject Requests and ensure they are resolved in line with KSA PDPL.
  • Continuously review personal data breach management policies and monitor for personal data breaches to ensure associated risks are managed and notifications to the relevant regulator made.
  • Develop a Data Privacy related Risk Appetite statement and conduct Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA) for high-risk processing activities.
  • Monitor and maintain a third-party list where personal data is being shared outside of ejada.
  • Review existing contracts with third parties to identify the involvement of personal data processing and ensure the data privacy clause is embedded in the contracts aligned with applicable jurisdictional privacy regulations.
  • Ensure that the contracts which involve the processing of personal data include provisions governing that processing and, where applicable, provisions ensuring appropriate safeguards when Personal Data is transferred out of any jurisdiction(s).
  • Identify and drive mitigation plans for the privacy-related risks stemming from the use of third parties.
  • Lead the data sharing mandate under NDMO for ejada and report directly to executive management on the initiatives, compliance with NDMO standard, awareness campaigns, and risks associated with publishing open data.
  • Conduct Data Sharing training for every employee involved in the Data Sharing initiatives to ensure that they understand their obligations, responsibilities, and the consequences of unauthorized disclosure or mishandling of data.
  • Develop and enforce a Data Sharing Process and Data Sharing Agreement.
  • Define and follow an Internal Data Sharing agreement template to be used when data is shared within ejada.
  • Inform and advise the business and its employees of their compliance obligations specific to data privacy laws.
  • Support the deployment of deep subject matter expertise around Data risk and Data privacy within ejada.
  • Cooperate with the regulatory authority.
  • Act as the contact point internally and externally for data protection and privacy with data subjects and the regulatory authority, and report on risk and control profile.
  • Engage with risk owners, control owners, and risk stewards to ensure Data risk and Data privacy are managed in accordance with policy.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to ensure that Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is appropriately protected.
  • Collaborate on data privacy policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Implement controls to mitigate risks, deliver privacy training, and use technologies that uphold privacy protections and compliance.
  • Lead planning, design, and evaluation of data protection and privacy projects.
  • Develop procedures for reporting privacy violations, create training materials, and manage vendor compliance inspections. Align with senior management on data privacy compliance for new products and services.
  • Act as the information privacy liaison and report breaches to senior management.
  • Regularly report the status of the data privacy program to senior management and committees.
  • Resolve noncompliance allegations promptly.
  • Establish and maintain a data privacy risk management and compliance framework, including an internal audit program.
  • Update the data privacy program to reflect changes in laws, regulations, or policies.
  • Ensure cybersecurity plans align with privacy practices.
  • Identify and address privacy compliance gaps.
  • Perform any other related duties that might be assigned by high management.
Qualifications and Education Requirement

Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant field. (Masters in relevant field is preferred) Industry-recognized certifications in CIPM, CIPP, DAMA, CDPSE (Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer).

Years & Nature of Experience: 7+ years of equivalent experience in the data privacy management field. Has led technical process areas; excels at leading teams and worked effectively with other areas and stakeholders outside their function. Has demonstrated ability to link technical contribution back to business impact for their team or area. Extensive Knowledge of KSA Personal Data Protection Law, particularly in consent, data subject rights, and sharing data across jurisdictions. Experience in data mapping and classification to identify the types of data collected, processed, and shared.

Education

Computer Science or relevant field. (Masters in relevant field is preferred)
