You will play a critical role in maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing stock discrepancies, and contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations.
As a Stock Controller in our logistics company, you will be responsible for overseeing the stock management process and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of stock control operations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining records of goods movements, adjustments and inventory
- Conducting regular inspections of incoming goods for quality and quantity
- Recording all transactions and movements of goods accurately in the inventory management system, updating product information, prices, and quantities of goods
- Implementing stock rotation strategies to minimize product expiry and ensure timely use of perishable goods
- Generating regular reports on stock levels, goods movement, and discrepancies identified
- Conducting periodic inventory counts to verify accuracy of inventory levels and identify discrepancies
- Implementing measures to prevent loss, damage, or theft
- Collaborating with various departments including purchasing, sales, and logistics to optimize inventory management processes and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Stock Controller or similar role within the logistics industry
- In-depth knowledge of stock control procedures and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve stock discrepancies
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to effectively manage stock operations
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with inventory management software and proficiency in MS Excel
- Effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams
