SummaryAssists in providing medical care in the field of Genitourinary & Gastrointestinal Oncology, and supervises interns and residents, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the hospital policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities and DutiesClinical Responsibilities:
Assists the Consultants in providing patient care and management in Genitourinary & Gastrointestinal Oncology, following standards of medical care established by the healthcare delivery system.
Conducts assessments, examinations, compiles case histories, and assists in diagnosis and management of patients based on diagnostic manuals such as the DSM.
Registers detailed medical histories, performs physical examinations, develops management plans, and follows up with patients, documenting all findings and orders as required.
Provides on-call coverage for the specialty on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Participates in ward rounds, documents findings, and follows up on investigation results to adjust treatments accordingly.
Attends outpatient and specialty clinics, sharing on-call duties as needed.
Performs other clinical duties as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities:
Provides orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows.
Keeps updated with the latest techniques and developments in the field, implementing them to improve standards.
Participates in educational activities and training programs within the department.
Participates in national and international medical conferences.
EducationGraduation from a recognized medical school, completion of postgraduate training in a specialty/subspecialty, with Saudi, American, Canadian, or UK certification, or equivalent as per the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.
Experience RequiredAt least two (2) years of training and post-training experience in the specialty and subspecialty.
