Brewer Morris is partnering with one of Saudi Arabia's largest and high-profile organisations to appoint a Head of Finance Commercial Finance for a newly created entity within the Group. Reporting to the VP Finance, the role leads as communication and collaboration link between business units, legal entity finance, and group wide entities. It enhances decision-making processes by providing insights into profitability and aligning financial outcomes with strategic business objectives. The role oversees performance discussions, financial analysis & monitoring, promoting continuous improvement, collaboration with stakeholders, and implementing robust control mechanisms for business lines and subsidiaries. The jobholder is accountable to lead the Financial Business Partners Department, overseeing requirements of group wide business units, leading performance management discussions, and developing financial outlooks. The role will also provide analytical support, monitor financial performance, anticipate future challenges, and contribute to financial reporting compliance of the business units.

The Role

  • Develop department strategy in line with Business Finance Sector and FBU's strategy at large to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment.
  • Establish department's scorecard and KPIs in order to achieve targeted goals, objectives and enhance department's performances.
  • Develop annual budget for the department and contribute in the development of Business Finance Sector budget to ensure adequate funding provisions made for the required activities.
  • Develop policies and procedures as appropriate to the department in alignment with organisational policies and procedures and recommend changes to enhance effective implementation, if needed.
  • Contribute to the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of financial strategies for Business Lines/ Subsidiaries, aligning financial initiatives with organisational objectives.
  • Ensure the provision of required support and input to Strategic Planning & Investment BU to develop comprehensive annual budgets that not only consider financial constraints but also align with strategic goals and operational requirements.
  • Oversee rigorous evaluation of cross-functional business decisions, business cases, and agreements, ensuring prudent financial risk mitigation.
  • Spearhead development of outlooks, forecasts and commercial scenarios for business units.
  • Lead analytical support process in financial analysis and due-diligence activities, safeguarding the financial interests of the BLs and legal entities.
  • Lead the support for challenges of relevant business owners with fact based detailed financial and costing analysis pertaining to financial statements, business units' performance, corporate and general service costs and projects under construction.
  • Lead the review process of commercial aspects of new agreements or proposals being considered by the business units.
  • Spearhead coordination within the Financial Business Partners Department to direct the day-to-day requirements of other BU and subsidiaries.

The Person

  • University degree in accounting or finance and a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA etc.)
  • Strong commercial finance skills along with a broad and deep background in finance business partnering role.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial compliance, business process optimisation, contract management, financial risk assessment and business analytics.
  • Fluent English & Arabic language skills with strong experience of presenting to boards and committees.
  • Strong people manager with experience of playing a significant role in a senior management team.
  • Strong team leadership skills, with ability to hire, nurture and develop teams, processes and practices.
