Chief Finance Officer: Sport Championship

We are pleased to have been retained by a Global Sport Championship in their search for a newly created role – Chief Finance Officer. We are seeking a KSA local.

Excitingly, this business is still very much in its start-up stage, therefore we are looking for someone who is prepared to hit the ground running and get stuck into a wide range of challenges around the build-out of a new Finance Function.

The role involves close collaboration with the business and senior management team on a daily basis, with an interesting mix of strategic and operational duties required while being responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, guiding its financial strategy, planning, and maintaining its fiscal stability. They will collaborate with the executive management team in Europe to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Manage the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the financial strategy of the company. This includes long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and investment strategies.
  • Leadership: Direct the Finance team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in the Sports/Entertainment Sector preferred.
  • Managing the Sports Organisation's financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Professional accreditation. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Previous experience of leading a financial function for an international organisation, with regional experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in senior financial managerial roles, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods.
  • Liaising with external auditors and managing financial audits.
