Job Description Summary

GA SABAP Cluster Substation Automation Engineer executes Digital Control System (DCS) engineering activities for the projects assigned considering the quality/cost/time. This role involves the execution of project design activities in line with the engineering process. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of design engineering activities for the project assigned and will coordinate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. In line with the Saudization requirements preference will be given to qualified Saudi nationals.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the DCS Engineering activities for the projects assigned considering the quality/cost/time
  • Man-days optimization during OTR stage
  • Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team to specify and design the project, whilst meeting the required technical standards
  • Preparation of all applicable production documentations needed for panels integration
  • Control projects effectively in terms of budgeted profitability, planning, and general reporting (internal/external)
  • Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality including partner documents
  • Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to PL procedures and per the project strategy
  • Participate in project strategy elaboration with PM and manage design issues up to resolution
  • Identify, track, and manage potential exceptions and represent customer interests in the design decisions at PM request
  • Validate design throughout customer acceptance and check consistency of engineering documents before final release to customer while managing evolution of customer requirements & associated impacts
  • Support site organization during site preparation and commissioning stage when required and ensure compliance with Quality Procedures, work instructions, and processes defined at Unit and project level
  • FAT preparation and conduct internal validation followed by customer FAT to ensure successful project delivery
  • Demonstrate EHS compliance and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team and set the example by demonstrating the proper acts and actively observing work conditions and behaviors, giving constructive feedback and celebrating EHS effective prevention
  • Effectively communicate directly with customers to ensure excellent customer service and to build and maintain customer intimacy
  • Participate in cost reduction processes through standardization and out-of-the-box ideas that optimize the provided solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering fields, preferably electrical engineer
  • 3 years minimum relevant experience in substation automation projects
  • Deep knowledge of preparing design documents for substation automation projects
  • Deep knowledge of preparing substation automation configuration/database
  • Ability to conduct FAT with reference to project specification
  • Good experience in IEC61850, IEC-101, IEC104, and other substation automation communication protocols
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the region
