- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English language.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex mold-related issues and propose effective solutions.

**Job General Objectives**

The Mold & CNC Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and optimizing Molds used in the plastic injection manufacturing process within a factory setting and CNC machining processes, developing tooling fixtures, and programming CNC machines to produce high-quality components in a manufacturing environment. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design engineers, CNC technicians, production personnel, and quality assurance, to ensure efficient and accurate production of high quality plastic components while maximizing the utilization of CNC equipment.

The Mold & CNC Design Engineer plays a vital role in the entire mold life cycle, from concept and design to troubleshooting and continuous improvement and enhancing the productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness of molds.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with product design engineers to analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and create mold designs using CAD software to determine optimal CNC machining processes.
- Develop efficient machining strategies, including tool selection, cutting parameters, and workholding techniques. Perform mold flow analysis and simulations to optimize mold design for improved production efficiency, cycle time and part quality.
- Develop detailed specifications and drawings for molds, ensuring adherence to product requirements, quality standards and manufacturing capabilities
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulate machining operations using CAM software to validate the proposed CNC machining processes.
- Design and develop tooling fixtures, workholding devices, and cutting tools for CNC machining operations, ensuring proper alignment, stability, and ease of setup.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed tooling and fixture designs, considering factors such as material properties, machining forces, and tool accessibility.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and external suppliers to manufacture, test, and validate tooling and fixtures.
- Develop CNC programs using CAM software, incorporating tool paths, cutting parameters, and machine instructions to produce components accurately and efficiently.
- Optimize CNC programs to minimize cycle time, reduce material waste, and maximize machine utilization, considering factors such as toolpath optimization and tool change strategies.
- Collaborate with CNC technicians and operators to fine-tune and optimize CNC programs based on real-world performance and feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, production, to ensure seamless mold integration into the manufacturing process and to establish inspection and measurement protocols for CNC machined components.
- Analyze machining data, inspection results, and feedback to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction and optimization.
- Implement corrective actions and engineering changes to molds, to improve part quality, machining efficiency, and overall process performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of CNC machining processes, tooling designs, fixture designs, and CNC programs. Record related to mold design, modifications, repairs and maintenance activities
