**Job Title: Electro-Mechanical / Electrical Technician**

**Responsibilities**:

- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electromechanical equipment, including drives, PLCs, and electronic control systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues, utilizing technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems, following safety protocols and industry standards.
- Perform spot repairs on production and facility equipment with mínimal to no supervision with high quality and workmanship standards.
- Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools.
- Diagnose difficult equipment failures and provide solutions to correctly diagnose all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems and expedite their repairs, minimizing interruption to production.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.
- Interpreting faults/error codes within machines control boards.
- Troubleshooting over-head crane faults and conducting the required mechanical/electrical repairs.
- Troubleshoot typical technical/mechanical failures.
- Conducting repairs to motors and pumps.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to implement improvements and upgrades to existing systems.
- Document maintenance activities, including problems description, repairs, replacements, and upgrades, to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist to keep sufficient stock levels of spares.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, forklifts to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
- Operate machine tools such as grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or machinery set-up.
- Uses electrical and non-electrical tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping. Display safe working practices in the performance of all duties and identify, correct, and report hazardous situations.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.
- Be available for callouts as required.
- Be available to work additional hours as required.
- In addition to the above mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.

**Requirements**:

- Technical Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Technical High school, or a related field. Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training in electrical systems is preferred.
- Min. 5 years of experience or more in manufacturing environment/steel industry.
- Proven experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technician, or similar role, demonstrating competence in electrical/mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of drives, PLCs, electronics, electrical systems, components, electrical equipment, and electromechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical components.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues effectively.
- Thorough understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Provide quality troubleshooting in a timely manner with a strong safety focus.
- Ability to document and create new standards such as: troubleshooting, PMs, and problem solving.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to electrical and mechanical work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking and Strong attention to detail and meticulous approach to work.
- Knowledge and operation skills of equipment and machinery.
- Spare parts management (ex; condition, quantity).
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical condition and agility to work in various settings, including confined spaces and heights.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Ability to withstand high elevation (up to 25m) to service over-head cranes.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
