**Job Purpose**
Perform diagnostic evaluation, service, and repair work on gensets in adherence to OEM and internal quality standards.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Perform routine maintenance in accordance with OEM-prescribed procedures
- Complete engine repairs, overhauls and rebuilds using diagnostic and dyno testing
- Ensuring the accessory equipment like fuel pumps and motors used with the generators are functional and repaired
- Perform fault tracing and troubleshoot malfunctions using technical orders, OEM handbooks and industry standards
- Undertake all pre-delivery tests and inspections to ensure all serviced gensets adhere to SDEC quality and standards before they leave the workshop
- Assist in completing job reports using the STAR technique to ensure accurate and informative records of tasks completed
- Hands-on service work in the workshop and field environments as required
- Provide inputs to improve, update and add to the Work Instruction Manual for gensets
- Keep working areas in a clean and safe condition
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules as laid down in the Safety Handbook
- Understand, comply and maintain the procedures associated with ISO 9000
- Perform other tasks as reasonably requested by the Supervisor or Manager.
**Qualifications and Relevant Certifications**
- Trade certificate in Mechanics
- OEM Certifications in advanced Diesel engine service will be an advantage.
**Knowledge Skills and Experience**
- At least practical experience of 4 years on power generation equipment
- Must have in-depth knowledge of engine operation and systems i.e. Air, Fuel, Governor, Oil, Cooling, Exhaust System, etc. and repair of engine components, i.e. Fuel Injector, Water Pump, Fuel Pump, Turbochargers, Blowers, etc.
- Working proficiency in professional English in both reading and writing
- Hands-on experience in engine overhauling
- Good computer skills particularly MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and under various site natures
