**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Job Holder has responsibility for the supervision of a small team of technicians tasked with the fault diagnosis and rectification activities associated with the scheduled and unscheduled servicing of HMSS and associated Life Support Equipment.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Conduct scheduled, unscheduled repair and maintenance of HMSS helmets and associated Life Support equipment in accordance with approved technical data and procedures.
- Formulate and deliver training packages for PC and RSAF counterparts.
- Support the Saudisation process through the OJT and consolidation training of assigned RSAF technicians.
- Support the company SHE policy through best practice within the work centre.
- Adherence to approved maintenance data and highlighting any anomalies when they arise.
- Attend meetings at the request of key stakeholders to provide any relevant information pertaining to the performance of the Life Support Shop.
- Completing any other reasonable duties or requests that are made by your line management.
- Carry out Bi-annual performance appraisals for all technicians within your area of control.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

**_Essential_**
- Must be educated to ONC level or recognised equivalent or have experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
- Must have previous experience of leading a Life Support team, preferably as SNCO on a military operational flying squadron
- Must have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification in military Life Support equipment branch. (_Typhoon Preferable_)
- Must have completed the HMSS Maintainers Course.
- Extensive proven experience in Life Support supervisory role within a modern military fast jet aircraft environment RAF or RSAF. (_Typhoon Preferable_)
- Familiarity of the tasks undertaken by Life Support technicians and the ability to drive and lead the team to successful completion of all tasks.
- A thorough understanding of RAF and/or RSAF engineering procedures.

**Desirable**
- Considerable aerospace and defence company/industry Knowledge
- Experience within an aerospace Safety Equipment, mechanical

**RECRUITMENT**

The post holder should have the following background:

- Ex-military with experience serving on a high tempo operational military flying unit.
- Must have attained extensive experience at supervisory levels, working in a military aircraft maintenance environment.
- Thorough working knowledge of aircraft Life Support equipment. (Typhoon Preferable)
- Practical experience working on HMSS and associated test equipment.
- Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred.
- The ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job is imperative.
- A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail is also required.
- A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
- Previous experience of conducting On-The-Job training.
