As a Physical Security Designer, your role is to design and develop comprehensive physical security solutions for various facilities, buildings, or infrastructure projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and security teams to assess security risks, develop security strategies, and design systems that mitigate threats and vulnerabilities. Your objective is to create effective and integrated physical security designs that protect people, assets, and information.

**Responsibilities**
- Security Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough security assessments to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and risks associated with the facility or project. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their security requirements and objectives.
- Security Design Development: Develop comprehensive physical security designs that address the identified risks and align with industry best practices. Design security systems such as access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, and security lighting.
- Security Technology Integration: Integrate various security technologies into the design, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, biometric devices, and security management platforms. Ensure seamless integration and interoperability between different security components.
- Security Standards and Regulations: Stay updated on security standards, regulations, and industry guidelines. Ensure that security designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and legal requirements.
- Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop strategies to mitigate identified security risks. Recommend appropriate security measures, controls, and countermeasures to enhance the facility's overall security posture.
- Collaborative Design Process: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to integrate physical security systems into the overall project design. Ensure that security requirements are incorporated during the design and construction phases.
- System Specifications: Prepare detailed specifications, drawings, and documentation for physical security systems. Specify equipment, materials, installation methods, and system functionality. Provide guidance on vendor selection and procurement.
- Project Management: Manage security design projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and successful implementation of security designs.
- Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the testing, commissioning, and validation of physical security systems. Ensure that the systems are properly installed, configured, and functional. Conduct system acceptance testing and provide support during the handover process.
- Training and Awareness: Develop security awareness programs and provide training to facility staff and security personnel. Educate stakeholders on the proper use and maintenance of security systems and procedures.
- Other tasks assigned by HgP.

**Requirements**:

- Preferred Secret Clearance but not required. Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in physical security design, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP), are preferred.
- Proven experience in physical security design, preferably in designing security systems for facilities, buildings, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of physical security principles, concepts, and technologies, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection.
- Familiarity with security standards, regulations, and industry best practices, such as those provided by ASIS International, ANSI, and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
- Proficiency in security design software, CAD tools, and project management software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess security risks and develop effective security solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, design teams, and security stakeholders.
- Knowledge of security system integration, networking protocols, and cybersecurity considerations in physical security design.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and work in confined spaces.
