Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a
**Metallurgy Technician** whose primary responsibility is to perform routine, metallurgical, mechanical, failure, corrosion testing facilitating metallurgy operations at site or at a laboratory.

This position will be based in Dammam Second Industrial area in KSA

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform routine mechanical testing (tensile, bend, charpy impact, hardness) including CTOD and metallurgical testing (micro / macro examinations) Involvement in site / field testing
- Support the Lab Manager / Supervisor in running day to day affairs and ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
- Carry out the mechanical tests for material properties evaluation and weld procedure specification qualification as per various international standards (ASME, API, AWS and BS). The tests include tensile test, Impact test, Nick-Break test, Bend Test, Macro examination etc
- Carry out the corrosion tests as per NACE standards and other project specification to determine the susceptibility of material to corrosion in various service conditions
- Metallographic examinations on various materials to be determine grain size, cleanliness, volume percentage of phases and general microstructure evaluation
- Coordinating with the clients & third-party witness as to the testing details
- Coordinating with the technicians to carry out work as per the planning schedule
- Monitor day-to-day health and safety in their section of work and ensure all hazards, near misses and accidents are reported

Skills / Qualifications:

- Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline
- 2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
- Good knowledge on international standards and codes
- Excellent report writing skill
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated team playing with excellent organisational and communication skills
