**Job Description**:
Do you want to contribute to a sustainable future? Red Sea Farms (RSF), a fast growing scaleup AgTech company, is seeking a hardworking optical materials engineer to lead the overall investigation on the development of advanced materials and their integration to Red Sea Farm’s CEA (controlled environment agriculture) cooling technologies. You will work with both suppliers and a diverse internal tech team to craft the advanced materials for sheet and panel technologies used in RSF tech. As a key member of a multi-disciplinary and cross organizational tech team, you will work closely with software, product, & opto-mechanical engineers, interface with the management team and provide direction to technical leads.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong technical background on optics, polymeric materials and associated technologies
- In-depth knowledge of transmission, scattering, refraction, diffraction and optical characterization
- Strong experience in design of experiments and corresponding data analysis
- Knowledge in polymer sheet and panel technologies, polymer processing, polymer sheet and panel technologies.
- Creativity and out-of-the box thinking in solving problems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a multi-functional team

**Preferred Additional Qualifications**:

- Minimum of a master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field.
- Proven track record leading engineering teams through the whole development cycle
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product development from concept to production
- Experience leading domestic and international vendors

Additional Information
**Primary Responsibilities**

The role’s primary responsibilities are listed but not limited to the below:

- Lead and oversee the development of our CEA passive cooling technologies.
- Take total ownership to drive technologies from R&D to implementation on real products with multi-functional teams
- Work with vendors to identify and modify key materials that can enable new optical technologies for cooling
- Develop new contributions and ideas in an interdisciplinary program team
- Conduct engineering analyses and evaluation of optical and opto-mechanical systems
- Provide technical solutions to various optics related problems
- Provide thorough documentation of work performed
- Develop plans and procedures for specifications & fabrication of components, and for assembly, test, and integration of optical systems, balancing cost & manufacturability
- Serve as technical interface to suppliers and manufacturers
- Manage a development team
- Reporting to senior level
