Geologist

Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Geologist to work with our team in Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Key responsibilities:

- Conduct due diligence projects, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment field work and technical report preparation
- Collect groundwater, soil, waste characterization, and other samples for laboratory analysis
- Perform quality assurance and quality control checks on project level data and report components
- Adhere to site-specific health and safety plans and defined scopes of work to complete tasks safely, thoroughly, and accurately; prepare or assist in the development of work scope, schedule, and budget
- Assist in planning the execution of work including subcontractor procurement
- Provide oversight of subcontractors, including utility locators, drilling contractors, and remediation contractors
- Evaluate compliance of subcontractor work against technical specifications and scopes of work
- Willingness and ability to problem solve, adapt to site conditions, and develop solutions while in the field and office setting
- Follow Wood safety standards, participate in safety training and prepare and implement site specific health and safety plans

Skills / Qualifications:

- BS degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or other related technical field
- 0-2 years of experience
- Computer proficient (including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Strong technical writing skills
- Demonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skills
- Team player and technical contributor
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability/desire to lead tasks
- Attention to detail
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work greater than 8-hours per day
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
