- **Job Purpose**

Primary accountability for the day-to-day ME road network operations on a 24hr x 7 day per a week basis. This includes responsibility for the management & development of International road network operations.
- **Principal Accountabilities**
- Primary accountability for all KSA based road network operations and resources, providing road line haul solutions to the Middle East Country entities.
- To control and direct operational road network resources whilst maintaining strict budgetary control as directed by the M.E. Road Network Manager.
- To direct and implement new routing developments as per the agreed Middle East strategic business plan, within agreed budgetary constraints.
- To ensure the timely dispatch and arrival of all scheduled and ad-hoq vehicle movements within MERN covered territories with primary emphasis on the control and development of sector specific transit times.
- To develop initiatives to improve efficiency and quality throughout the operations team.
- To set clear and concise performance standards and objectives for the operations team including specific individual key objectives in line with the business and departmental key performance indicators.
- To maintain operational and financial data and produce accurate analysis and operational improvements for the M. E. Road Network Department.
- To implement a strategic maintenance contingency plan in line with the Middle East operational and supplier fleet upgrade plan.
- To develop and manage subcontracted line haul suppliers maintaining strict operation and budgetary control, as in line with business objectives set by the Middle East Road Network Manager.
- To manage and ensure strict compliance of security and safety procedures and regulations to ensure road operations comply with DHL’s international and local standards.
- To uphold, analyze & improve current ISO 9002 & ISO 14000 procedures within the scope of the Network operational requirements.
- To ensure the enforcement of the road specific M.E. dangerous Goods Procedures.
- To act as the primary road network interface for BAH in accordance with network and country requirements.
- Primary accountability for the management of international and domestic backhaul opportunities on road network line haul.
- To proactively liaise with the DHL KSA Customs, Gateways, Operations, KSA SMT, KSA Commercial team and other MERN OPS managers, ensuring the continuous development of DHL’s road service capabilities within KSA.
- To ensure all loads are appropriately packaged and palletized / containerized (thus reducing shipment damage during transit) by proactively liaising with the country MERN ground operations team.
- To proactively liaise with your Countries Operations team to improve shipment TT in line with OPMS Transit Time schedules.
- Ensure full NMIV (Network Movement Integrated View) compliance in accordance with network and country requirements and any other tools used or to be implemented in MERN
- Build & Maintain a Day to Day working relationship with the BAH HUB, KFIA Team and other KSA service centers to smoothly integrate the Road Network with Hub & Air Network activities.
- Support MERN to open new lanes, products and solutions in collaborations with all relevant stakeholders.
- To implement and create initiatives related to DP DHL Go Green vision and set measurable target to achieve.
- **Nature and Scope**Context**

The M. E. Road Network provides a comprehensive international road transport service to each of the GCC countries on a 24 hour, 365 day per year basis. This requires close co-operation with both the customs authorities and DHL entities in each of the respective countries, along with the management and development of multi-cultural reporting team.
- **Reporting Relationships**

Reports to the Road Network Manager, MENAT
- **Problem Solving**

There are two principal areas of problem solving:
1) Directing M. E. Road Network operational resources to network requirements, whilst providing optimal performance & efficiency within agreed financial targets, particularly for backhaul opportunities.
2) The establishment and implementation of clear operational Kip’s and the subsequent management to those targets in consideration of both DHL and subcontracted line haul.
