International Organization (IOM) is the UN migration agency dedicated to promoting humane
and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to
governments, businesses and migrants to protect the rights of people on the move and
maximize the development gains of human mobility. For more information about IOM, please

The Private Sector Partnerships Division (PSP) sits within the Office of Partnerships, Advocacy
and Communications under the overall oversight of the Director General. PSP builds
partnerships with the private sector that enable IOM's strategic priorities and engage the private

sector as a key stakeholder in migration through impactful and innovative partnerships. PSP
leads strategic outreach and engagement with the private sector and provides Headquarters,
Regional and Country Offices with assistance and expertise relating to initiating, establishing,
and maintaining partnerships with the private sector. PSP is responsible for the development
and implementation of IOM’s Private Sector Strategy which provides a framework for how IOM
engages with the private sector to support safe, orderly, and regular migration. PSP oversees
engagement with the private sector, establishes and coordinates IOM’s private sector
partnerships due diligence process, builds staff capacity in private sector partnership-building
and oversees the Goodwill Ambassador programme and celebrity partnerships.

The Gulf Country Strategy further highlights the importance of IOM’s Islamic Philanthropy Fund,
which will work with Gulf governments, foundations, charities, Islamic financial institutions, and
individual donors to support vulnerable communities in the Gulf countries as well as other parts
of the world. Through this Fund, IOM is eligible to function as an intermediary agent that can
collect and distribute Muslim alms, including zakat. Consequently, IOM will be able to make
greater contributions to the efforts of governments and communities to reduce poverty and
hunger, prepare and rapidly respond to disasters, and to rebuilding initiatives through provision
of direct assistance to the poor. Through the Fund, IOM will also expand its efforts to implement
relief and development projects that improve the health and alleviate the suffering of the most
vulnerable.

Under the overall and direct supervision of Head of Office and Director of Islamic Philanthropy
Fund office and technical coordination with the Department of the Office of Partnerships
Advocacy and Communications, the Senior Programme Officer (Islamic Philanthropy Fund) will
be responsible for leading the liaison required to establish and operationalize of the Islamic
Philanthropy Fund, implementation of the Islamic Philanthropy Fund (IPF) and resource
mobilization actions aimed to mobilize resources through Zakat, Sadaqh funding from the
international charities, financial institutions, foundations, corporations, High-Net-Worth
individuals and relevant stakeholders.

**_ Core Functions / Responsibilities:_**

1. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely implementation of the IPF
Standard Operating Procedures and the programmatic and financial management of Muslim
Alms administration, in close coordination with Regional Office (ROs), Country Office (COs),
Department of Legal Affairs, Department of Financial and Administrative Management, Cash
Based Initiatives Unit, Media and Communications Unit, and other departments and divisions,
as required.
