**Job Summary**

Provide consultations when needed and high quality of care to all emergency patients in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. Highly trained in modern aspects of medical practice and utilize in the best advantage of department function at all times and take the responsibilities of leadership with high clinical & administrative skills. The Consultant Emergency Room is responsible for the care of his patients in accordance with the ethics of the medical profession and the laws and customs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within his experience and training.

**Mandatory **education and licensure**
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical school
- Saudi Board, Arab Board, American Board or Canadian in Emergency Medicine or its equivalent internationally recognized high medical qualifications is essential requirement that is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
- A valid medical license as Emergency Consultant by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to practice the specialty
- Current valid certification of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advance Cardia Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtaining these within 6 months of commencement of employment

**Preferred**
- A subspecialty degree/Fellowship Certification at least 2-years program in related specialty or its equivalent internationally recognized high medical qualifications is essential requirement that is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
- Membership in the Emergency Department Board and participate in any other hospital committee

**Professional Experience**
- Mandatory A Minimum of )3( three years of professional experience in the practice of the specialty after obtaining the high medical degree
- Preferably with in a managerial level and with teaching experience in the medical field

**Specialized Knowledge **& Skills**
- Fluent in written and spoken English, fluency in Arabic would be of advantage
- Good general health, able to work extended hours under stress, isolation and at high altitudes, mobility, near visual acuity and no uncorrected audiological problems
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Teaching: To demonstrate skills required for educational training to medical students, professions
- Research: To demonstrate a proven ability and track record of engagement in research relating to the specialty
