The Associate Producer will be responsible for developing and assisting the producing of video content from short form content to long-form for our new media brand, headquartered in Riyadh and producing primarily Arabic-language content for a Saudi and global audience.

You will be confident and capable to see a film through from development to the final delivery and will be comfortable working on everything from long form documentaries to short-form content. You will be expected to film in various capacities and have a good working knowledge of shoots & shoot set-ups. You will have a proven track record in self-directing on small shoots and contributor recces to good technical and editorial standards. A good working knowledge of the law as it relates to production paperwork in KSA and abroad is necessary and you must be able to advise on requests for information including a wide range of stories in production both editorial and branded.

The role will be at the centre of the production process, you will be required to (but not be limited to) identifying and assessing new material, locating contributors, briefing and assisting producers and hosts, organising location shoots, researching archive material, collating and assessing information from various sources. You will be responsible for ideation and research and for checking the researchers work, where necessary. You will be required to play a full and active part in the growth and development of the slate. You will be confident assisting films through from development to the final delivery and will be comfortable working on everything from longer form documentaries to short-form lighter pieces. The Producer will help originate and develop ideas. You will be expected to go on shoots, where you will be responsible for helping manage contributors, schedules, compliance and clearances. You will need to check final written materials for accuracy, provide sources, and suggest amendments in a helpful and constructive manner.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Working with the Director & Producer, Associate Producers, Researchers & Executive Producer to research, produce & manage stories, run shoots and assist in the edit of films.- Gaining access and casting contributors via social media & phone bashing- Writing treatments & pitching ideas for commissioning- Writing biographies and oversee cutting of development tapes of cast- Possibly shooting and interviewing on Recce’s- Assist on films working independently or as directed as well as screen testing new talent & help take films through to edit with support of lead director when necessary- Filing and organising contributor release forms- Keeping track of production expenses reconciling and clearing float while on shoots- Lead on short form content, development (in collaboration with the development team) and production from ideation to edit.- You will produce content across various editorial platforms. This can also include leading and assisting on shoots for social channels including Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and all new social ventures.- During the edit you will assist when necessary- Work closely with producers/directors to ensure production schedules are met and work is delivered to the highest standard.- You may be expected to lead on a variety of productions as part of your individual development, the EP / Head of Production will assist in your development and discuss this with you on a case-by-case basis.- Help creatively define the mood and personality of a film, carefully crafting stories that will resonate with a wider audience.Assist in visually driving films, both in terms of both style and structure; and encouraging innovation.Lead and motivate junior members of the team, ensuring they have clear and realistic objectives.Help work closely with hosts where necessary, ensuring they are properly briefed, and involving them in the editorial process, including scripting.Work closely with the production manager & coordinators to ensure maximum productivity and that programmes come in on budget.Work well when under pressure. The ability to cope with a large volume of programme material, all of which must be thoroughly researched and investigated. Proven qualities of adaptability and flexibility in coping with rapidly changing circumstances and ability to prioritise and exercise excellent editorial judgement as circumstances change.Assist the producer to ensure all paperwork, legal, compliance and Health & Safety are considered and completed in advance and carried out on the shoot as well as fact checking during the edit.- Be able to secure the appropriate rights and clearances for video usage.
