This role requires a proactive approach to managing data privacy, providing expert advice, and driving compliance initiatives across the organization.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- **Primary Point of Contact**: Serve as the main point of contact within the organization for staff, regulators, and public bodies regarding data protection issues.
- **Collaboration with CISO**: Coordinate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to implement controls that protect personal data from risks.
- **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure the bank's policies align with regional data protection regulations and industry codes of practice.
- **Employee Education**: Provide expert advice and educate employees on data compliance requirements.
- **Policy Development**: Draft and amend internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- **Compliance Evaluation**: Assess the current data protection framework, identify areas of non-compliance, and rectify issues.
- **Promote Compliance Culture**: Foster a culture of data protection compliance across all organizational units.
- **Budget Planning**: Collaborate with the Data Management Office to plan and define the budget for data privacy technology enablement.
- **Data Processing Oversight**: Oversee records of all personal data processing activities.
- **Data Breach Management**: Coordinate investigations of data breaches as part of working groups.
- **Vendor Management**: Ensure third-party contracts are in place where personal data is shared with external vendors.
- **Consumer Rights Compliance**: Ensure processes for providing consumers with notices and consents are maintained.
- **Training and Advice**: Inform, advise, and train the organization and its employees on data protection laws.
- **Compliance Audits**: Work with the Data Governance Specialist to conduct compliance audits and recommend corrective actions.

**Internal Processes/Practices**:

- **Regulator Liaison**: Act as the liaison between the company and regulatory authorities for handling data privacy-related complaints and requests.
- **Data Privacy Enquiries**: Handle inquiries related to data privacy practices, withdrawal of consent, and the right to be forgotten.
- **Awareness Programs**: Assist the Data Governance Head in driving data privacy awareness programs for customers and staff across the bank and its subsidiaries.
- **Compliance Assessments**: Conduct periodic data privacy and protection compliance assessments within the bank.
- **Adherence to Policies**: Work closely with data owners and stewards to ensure adherence to the bank's data protection policies.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Engage with business, technology, and transformation teams to address data-driven initiatives and mitigate data privacy issues.

- **Industry Monitoring**: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and evolutions related to data privacy.
- **Expertise in Data Privacy**: Demonstrate deep knowledge of data privacy, handling, and classification, along with experience managing data privacy issues in a global organization.
- **Global Compliance Knowledge**: Possess expertise in global data protection laws, with a particular focus on GDPR.
- **Technology-Driven Transformation**: Show a strong desire to work in technology-driven business transformation with a focus on data governance and management.
