Pipe Fitter

Installs, repairs and maintains existing plumbing systems and different pipes and fittings carrying heating, water, gas and sewage.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Repairs or replaces various piping system fittings and components such as valves traps, drains, fitters. pumps and strainers.

2. Performs all types of plumbing related equipment in the Hospital, residential and recreation Area, using standard plumbing hand and power tools, soldering and light welding equipment.

3. Work from drawings, sketches, specifications, written and verbal instructions. Keeps record of the work performed.

4. Lays out, fabricates, assembles, maintains and installs pipes carrying heating, water gas and sewage systems in the Hospital. Such as: new chilled water supply/return line, condense drain lines, new water fire line system, sprinklers, fire hose cabinets, alarm check valves, isolation valves, flow switches and installs plumbing fixtures.

5. Selects type and size of pipes and related materials according to job specifications.

6. Plans sequence of operations and insures absence of obstructions. checks and estimates manpower and man-hours needed to complete the project.

7. Carryout general piping works: a. Cut pipe using hand tools such as hacksaw, pipe cutters and cutting torch. b. Threads pipe using threading machine. c. Bends pipe by hand or with pipe bending machine. d. Assembles piping using appropriate materials. e. Join piping using threaded calked soldered brazed or cemented joints. f. Secures pipes to structures when required. g. Testing piping for leaks after installation or repair using hydro test pump and submit the testing report.

8. Guides lower graded personnel.

9. Position may require rotation on various shifts to maintain 24-hours coverage.

10. Follows all prescribed safety procedures.

**Education**:
High School Education with Vocational Training is required.

**Experience Required**:
Five (5) years of related experience is required.

Saudi Driver's License
- A driver's license from country of origin is necessary to obtain a Saudi Driver's License.
