Description:
- Job Summary- The Junior Naval Architect will be the connecting link for technical evaluations as per requirement for Operations and in some cases from Commercial for potential future business.
- He will provide through appropriate calculations, docking plans as per the docks characteristics and lifting capacity.
- Will assess as applicable to his area for structural integrity of the floating docks condition as to the maximum possible lifting capacity.
- Will provide drawings for berthing plans in consultation with Operations team.
- Will provide other drawings like yard layout drawings or project related drawings such as lifting plans etc.
- Will need to be highly responsive to urgent matters as they become a requirement.
**Responsibilities**:
- Adheres, reinforces, and promotes ABIC Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Policies.
- Plan & Implement Hull & Outfit Design activities.
- Liaison with Owners, Class & comply with their requirements.
- Perform Design, Drawings & Specifications in a timely manner.
- Liaison with Operations Departments to sort out production-based issues.
- Liaison with Commercial Department for feasibility studies.
- Complete & monitor tasks within the budgeted hours.
- Perform basic design calculation as required for the job.
- Create hull & outfit design & drawings with the team of designers.
- Provide design and drawings in a timely manner.
- Train new entrants & design engineers.
- Motivate design team to perform work in an effective manner.
- Attends to onboard or in the yard as required for identifications/measurements/collection of data, etc.
- Performs any other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications.- Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture with preference in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Design in a shipyard environment responsible for docking plan, berthing etc.
- Experience in Ship & Rig Repair is essential.
- Fluent in the English language, verbal and written.
