Sr. Chemist

Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a
**Senior Chemist** to join the Element team in KSA

In thsi role, you will be responsible for performing routine analysis and reporting on water & soil samples using GC -MS/FID, ICP and chromatography data systems

This role will be based in Dammam, KSA

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform routine analysis and reporting on water & soil samples using GC -MS/FID, ICP and chromatography data systems.
- Conduct metal analysis on water, soil samples
- Review analytical data before releasing / sending to the client
- Ensure adherence to a comprehensive ISO 17025 quality system, ensuring quality records and maintaining and troubleshooting of the ICP, GC-FID, GC-ECD and GC-MS systems
- Assist in preparing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and modifying the existing analytical SOPs as and when required
- Train and mentor juniors as required

Skills / Qualifications:

- Graduate in Chemistry (or similar engineering or science degree) from a reputable university, having 5 to 6 years of demonstrable chemistry laboratory testing experience, ideally gained in organic testing working in a commercial test house
- Experienced in LIMS systems
- Experienced in analytical chemistry, maintaining, and troubleshooting of the ICP, GC-FID, GC-ECD and GC-MS systems
- Completely flexible as to work overtime as the workload dictates
- Excellent communication skills along with team playing and multicultural aptitude
