The Design & Build (D&B) entity of SYSTRA more particularly focuses on delivering projects alongside Contractors during tender or execution phases and delivering high-technicality design assignments.

**CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

As SYSTRA continues to grow as a business in Saudi Arabia and D&B activities in the Middle East region, we are looking for a Tunnel Design Manager.

**Project Overview**

The running tunnels is a major infrastructure asset of the NEOM programme and backbone railway system which will connect the car-free city “The Line” on the west to the International Airport on the east. The tunnel is 28 km in length and divided in 4 lots of approximately 7 km each. It is being built to accommodate high speed rail and new generation freight with a total of 4 tracks.

**Key tasks**

As part of the detailed design team, you will work alongside the Contractor’s Engineering and Construction teams to develop the final design for execution for lots 4 & 5. This involves technical support to the construction team on site. You will be supported and work together with SYSTRA offshore design teams located in Dubai, Türkiye, or France.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**

The main expectations for the position are:

- Lead the design team on site (circa 5 people) in charge of delivering Civil and Tunnel Work Design;
- Be the Contractor’s primary point of contact for all technical and design aspects;
- Lead and animate the review of suppliers’ and subcontractors’ shop drawings;
- Produce and/or review design reports, drawings, calculations, quantities, etc.;
- Support the Contractor on Buildability and Constructability issues;
- Respond to technical RFIs;
- Produce technical memos related to design or technical clarifications;
- Attend and contribute to Safety in Design (SiD) workshops and implement in final design;

**YOUR PROFILE**

**EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND**

Preferably University degree in Geotechnical or Mining Engineering

**CAREER BACKGROUND**

15+ years of overall experience (including tunnel design experience)

Experience in drill & blast, NATM, conventional tunneling works

Experience in final design or execution phase of tunnel projects

**PACKAGE & BENEFITS**

**SALARY**

45,000 to 50,000 SAR

**LOCATION**

Project Office in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia

**BENEFITS**

Accommodation and meals provided in addition to Salary.

48 hours / 6 days per week
