The Job Opportunity
We are looking for an Airport Specialist Systems Engineer to be responsible, in part, for the facilities maintenance operations team and will be assigned to manage and support teams of Operations specifically assigned to the airports specialist systems (i.e. Baggage Handling Systems, Security Screening, AGL, VDGS, Asphalt work and other airport specialist systems included within the scope of work).

This position will work as part of Terminal operations and Airside Operations team providing expert guidance on routine maintenance issues and airport specialist systems.

Serco delivers essential public services to customers in KSA on behalf of governments, semi-governments and large private corporations.

Key accountabilities

Accountable to ensure that TFM providers Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks, reactive & corrective maintenance and project works are delivered to meet the contract Key Performance Indicators, compliance and statutory obligations and that all reports and documentation that underpin the services are kept up to date.

Required to maintain regular communications with the Serco’s allocated persons for Stores, Helpdesk, CAFM, Operations, HSQE and other key members from TFM/Service Providers and Airport. Conduct periodic, daily, and as necessary, continuous audits of runways, taxiways, AGL, BHS, Escalators, Elevators, Travellators and other airport specialist systems to identify and document damage, deterioration, debris, and other unsafe or non-compliant conditions. Oversee the planning and scheduling of resources required to deliver building and engineering performance management services including specialist subcontractors and service delivery partners Plan, coordinate and supervise in-house staff and specialist service contractors utilised to provide the planned, reactive and corrective maintenance services as detailed in the contract to ensure that SLA’s and KPI’s are adhered to Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and protocols for building services planned and reactive maintenance (including Risk Assessments, Permit to Work System, Lock Out Tag Out, and Emergency Procedures) Prepare and provide shift and handover reports in a timely manner as required

Proficient and able to provide relevant supervisory and technical support
A high competency in English language skills, excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Flexibility, excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key issues
Able to work under stringent deadlines in a high-pressure environment, and manage priorities Highly motivated and flexible to work in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads, events and emergencies Ability to think laterally and analyse and assess a range of information Ability to multi-task and analyse situations promptly and without bias to determine the proper course of action or alternatives without jeopardising safety, quality and the committed performance targets Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to maintain employee, contractor and customer confidentiality Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers

Specific requirements
Strong communication skills and there will be a high level of accountability to manage, report and escalate any incident or event that may have an impact on services Have working knowledge of building, grounds, and airfield inspection practices and principles.
Client, stakeholders and employee engagement and the development of good relations will be an additional focus for the role Airport and Airside Experience Essential 10 years’ minimum experience working as an engineer in a building services engineering department within a facilities management organisation, preferably within an airport and critical systems environment. 3 years minimum supervisory experience with the ability to manage maintenance teams, preferably within an airport environment.
Technically competent with a clear knowledge and experience of building services system, life safety and buildings controls systems such as BHS, AGL, Elevators, Escalators, Travellators, screening machines etc.
