The Marine Specialist will be assigned to our client’s chartered vessel or spread across multiple vessels with the purpose of acting as a liaison between the Project Vessel or Project Spread, and the Rig Move Operations Support Unit (RMOSU). You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the marine operation, vessels, and personnel and the client’s assets at the project site. You will be serving on an anchor construction vessel.

**What you will be doing.**:

- Implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments and adhering to local and international maritime rules and regulations.
- Guaranteeing strict obedience to all client procedures and instructions and guarantees that the client is promptly informed of any shortcomings.
- During their time onboard, the Marine Specialist will be required to submit Daily and Weekly Reports as as well as Miscellaneous and Incident Reports.
- Ensure that all crew members, contractors, and personnel on board follow the client’s safety.
- Be vigilant about environmental protection measures during operations. Follow strict guidelines to prevent any potential spills, leaks, or harm to marine life. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and report any environmental incidents promptly.
- Be familiar with emergency response procedures and equipment on board. Ensure regular drills to guarantee that all personnel on board are well-prepared to handle emergencies effectively.
- Pay close attention to vessel navigation, especially in busy or restricted waters. Ensure that the vessels are operated safely and in compliance with maritime laws and regulations as well as the client’s requirements.
- Regularly inspect all marine equipment, machinery, and safety gear to ensure they are in proper working condition. Report any issues and coordinate consequence with the client.
- Stay informed about weather forecasts and be prepared to take appropriate actions in case of adverse weather conditions.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the Master/OCM/Superintendent, vessel crew, and other relevant parties. Coordinate closely with the Rig Move Operations Support Unit to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with the approved Rig Move Meeting Minutes. Any deviations or changes must be communicated and approved by the client.
- Maintain detailed records of all vessel activities, including moves, equipment inspections, safety drills, and incident reports.
- Look for opportunities to enhance efficiency and safety in marine operations. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve processes and procedures.
- Maintain adherence to ABL Group’s professional standards and QHSE requirements.

**What we are looking for.**:

- Master Mariner STCW Class 1 unlimited qualification.
- Previous experience captaining a Point 4, 8, 10 or 12 Anchor Construction Vessel.
- Experience captaining types of vessels such as Rigs or Rig Support Units.
- Experience of working on Dynamic Positioning (DP) vessels.
