**Position Summary**:
Assist maintenance manager in developing, managing, and implementing reliability centered maintenance program. Organize preventive, predictive and emergency maintenance and set priorities for maintenance work assignments. Responsible for the supervision of maintenance crews involved in maintaining the operation facilities. Supervises, and directs work implementation, maintains the conditions of tools, equipment and machineries. Maintain high level of safety rules and regulations set by the company and cost effectiveness on all projects and daily work.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

**RESOURCE MANAGEMENT**
- Assist Department management in planning and organizing resources (human & equipment) needed to deliver the departments objectives.
- Participates in the development of maintenance service agreements with customers and contractors.
- Ensure that the received data, drawings and documentation concerning engineering and maintenance from project contractor and vendors are complete as per project contract specifications.
- Manages assisting the maintenance team in case of emergency repairs / critical inspections and ensures documentation of work completed. Ensures technical proposals for outsourced maintenance services with clear scope of work for routine or down day shutdown maintenance activities are developed, reviewed and approved.

**PROBLEM SOLVING**
- Conducts schedules and/or routine inspections on plants or projects sites to track progress
- Investigate potential and identified problems in order to find cost effective solutions when approved and monitor results **.**:

- Supports the development and implementation of mechanical maintenance reliability program and procedures.
- Leads the root cause analysis of repeated major failures to ensure continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoots mechanical problems in the plant and proposes solutions. Directly supervises emergency repairs/actions to any plant / project sites.

**PLANNING AND PRIORITIZATION**
- Manage maintenance team in the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities.
- Review schedules and time-frames for all projects and machineries, preventive maintenance and testing and inspections.
- Makes sure that chronic Failure Elimination / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies are conducted by assigned engineers, timely, and drives the implementation of studies recommendations with concerned parties.
- Maintains close monitoring on all maintenance crews job activities and progress against established timeline for completion.
- Plan and prioritize work activities to ensure cost effectiveness within budget
- Ensure that all resources, systems, procedures and required equipment/parts onsite to productively address maintenance requirements and set timelines.
- Ensures all relevant engineering standards and procedures are followed during plant repairs and alterations by in-house and contract resources.
- Meets regularly as part of the Maintenance and Production Team to coordinate activities and priorities.
- Supports the development of maintenance KPI’s to ensure responsiveness to customer needs and to promote continuous improvement. Provides input to the annual maintenance budget and capital planning budget taking into account improvement opportunities and end of life replacement requirements.

**Plant and Equipment Availability**
- Oversees the overall condition of all company equipment, vehicles, machineries, tools and other support equipment onsite.
- Recommends new/replace equipment, tools or machineries deemed necessary to improve plant conditions and boost plant production output.
- Identifies critical spare parts and specialized tools and ensures their availability in compliance with the reliability centered maintenance program.
- Supports the development of specifications and supplier lists for spare parts to enable ordering and re-ordering.

**Minimum Education**:
Degree Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree

**Experience and Qualifications**:
**12 **+ years solid maintenance experience including 5-7 years at management level within a Fortune 200, such as: Petroleum, Chemical, Fertilizer/Mining or other Industrial Manufacturing organizations. Experience in mineral processing is an asset.
