Responsibilities:
1- Communicating with other ship operators, harbor pilots, and port officials regarding navigational safety rules and regulations.
2- Familiar with operating in tight area for marine construction work.
3- Manage a crew of deckhands and apprentices who take care of the maintenance of the boat.
4- Monitoring weather conditions to ensure the safety of the vessel and crew.
5- Maintaining logs of all activities on board the boat including fuel consumption during trips, repairs made during downtime, and other relevant information.
6- Supervising the loading and unloading of cargo aboard ships in harbors and ports
7- Navigating the boat through difficult waters or narrow channels using knowledge of tides, currents, and wind patterns.
8- Towing other vessels (tugs, barges, dredgers etc. ) and fully familiar with towing connection.
9- Controlling the speed of the boat using the engine controls or rudder to steer the boat in the desired direction.
10- Inspecting equipment and machinery on board the boat for damage or wear and making repairs as necessary.
11- Maintaining safety standards on board the vessel by enforcing regulations regarding safety equipment, life preservers, fire drills, and other procedures.
12- Solving crew problems and to be the representative of them with company.
13- Monitoring weather conditions and communicating with other ships in the area to ensure safe navigation.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Jeddah: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (preferred)
