**Parachute/Fabrication Technician**

**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

- The purpose of the role is maintaining good engineering practice and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Hawk Para-Fab Shop
- Prepare items for calibration within their work area
- Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed
- Have a thorough knowledge of Aircraft Safety devices and Aircraft operating areas
- Ensure compliance with tool control and the KFAB SAFO program
- Support deployments to other bases within and out of KSA when required and be able to prepare equipment to support these deployments
- Be able to provide functional guidance to the SNTTP programs in respect of any engineering issues that may arise
- Act as MIIP on any aircraft or ground support technical related issues
- Monitor all supply issues affecting the Hawk Para-Fab Shop
- Providing up to date briefings and information to all concerned parties on daily progress and any issues affecting the Hawk Para-Fab Shop
- Ensuring the Approved Maintenance Organisation is compliant with the requirements of the M&CA Mandates and Pt145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition with regards to maintaining aircraft, its components and resource SQEP levels.***

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**Work Direction**:
In this role the job holder will report to the following:

- RSAF Policies and procedures
- M&CA Mandates
- Base Maintenance Manager

**Decision-Making Authority**:
The job holder may be required to make decisions on the following:

- Fault identification, debrief and rectification
- Maintenance scheduling
- Maintaining competency and ensuring SQEP levels are within the mandated limits
- Scheduling of personal time to maintain the operational requirement

**Planning / Organising**:
The Job Holder will undertake the following activities as a minimum:
They will be responsible for providing support to the Approved Maintenance Organsation (AMO) to ensure delivery of serviceable assets to the AMO in order to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments.

They shall be responsible for themselves and their peers, including training technicians and maintaining a strong safety culture whilst fault finding, repairing and delivering serviceable assets to maintain the customers daily flying programme.

In addition, the Para Fabrication Technician is to provide accurate and up to date information to their Line Managers to ensure the ETIC schedule is achieved, ensuring solutions to any arising issues are identified and rectified during maintenance activities.

The management of repairable components into the supply repair channel, and ensuring their team maintain efficient and effective supply discipline.

Ensure the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system.

**Subordinates**:
In order to support Vision 2030 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to meet BAE Systems Saudisation targets, all personnel shall utilise their knowledge and skills and act as a leader and mentor in the training and education of trainees in a multicultural environment.

**Report Preparation**:
Any reports as directed including training reports carried out in accordance with the policy.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

**_ Essential_**
- Must have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on the same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP)
- Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
- Relevant equipment specific training.**_ _**

- An understanding of company processes and procedures.
- Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge
- Martin Baker certification.
