Perform initial and ongoing assessments of athletes’ physical conditions and injury risks.
- Diagnose musculoskeletal issues and develop individualized treatment plans.- Design and implement tailored therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation programs.
- Use manual therapy, modalities, and exercise to aid in recovery and performance enhancement.- Develop and conduct injury prevention programs focusing on common football-related injuries.
- Educate athletes on proper warm-up, cool-down, and conditioning techniques.- Guide athletes through rehab processes to ensure safe and effective recovery.
- Collaborate with medical staff to make return-to-play decisions.- Work with coaching staff to integrate physical therapy into training for performance improvement.
- Provide advice on strength and conditioning tailored for young female footballers.- Educate athletes about body mechanics, nutrition, and lifestyle choices affecting performance and health.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement throughout the rehabilitation process.- Collaborate with coaches, sports scientists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain clear communication with athletes, coaches, and parents regarding treatment progress and health status.- Keep detailed records of treatment plans, progress, and any modifications.
- Report to team management on injury statuses and rehabilitation outcomes.
**Requirements**:
- A degree in Physical Therapy or related field from an accredited institution.
- A valid license to practice physical therapy.
- Experience in sports physical therapy, particularly working with youth or female athletes.
- CPR and First Aid certification are often required.
**Desirable Qualities**:
- Strong understanding of soccer-specific physical demands and injuries.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with young athletes and team staff.
- Passion for promoting health, wellness, and peak performance in young athletes.
