Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting Offshore Instrument Designer to join our Offshore Maintain Potential Program (OMPP) in Al - Khobar, Saudi Arabia OMPP is a multi - year, multi program venture covering both greenfield and brownfield offshore projects here in Saudi Arabia the scope of this program includes Engineering & Design, Procurement and Construction Management
Work closely with peer and subordinate project design staff as well as engineering staff to assure the integrity of project deliverables and documents is maintained, accurate and consistent
- Complete understanding and knowledge of assigned deliverable document organization and production as well as proficiency in the software / tools used to produce them
- Design and production of related fabrication materials and drawings
- Associated equipment layout and production of layout drawings
- Production of Instrument location plans and details
- Control system wiring and loop generation
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements
- Delegate tasks and provide oversight and mentoring to lower classification design staff that have been assigned to assist you by the Instrumentation Design Supervisor
- Coordination and cooperation associated with assigned tasks across all project design and engineering disciplines for maximum integration of overall design
- Provide field construction support as directed by the project Instrumentation Design Supervisor
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of standard office software with proficiency in the engineering / design software and tools required to produce assigned project deliverables
Communicate with the Instrumentation Design Supervisor and discipline staff to assure that changes in scope are identified and carried out in an orderly and efficient manner
- Work with Instrumentation Design Supervisor and Lead Discipline Engineer to assure that potential trend / change orders are identified, documented and submitted to the project management team for consideration / approval
- Assist the Instrumentation Design Supervisor in:

- Accurate and timely reporting of progress
- Maintaining quality and integrity of design and deliverables
- Cross discipline coordination and support
- Schedule maintenance to assure deadlines are met
- Assists the design supervisor in coordinating design management with engineering discipline lead engineers
- Responsible for preparing and review of calculations, design drawings, and other information
- Supports construction and procurement with preparation of drawings and material take-offs
- Reviews as-built drawings and assists with collection of design information required by construction and procurement
- Directly involved with the development, enhancement, and maintenance of 3D graphic visual display and modeling work

Skills / Qualifications:

- A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in Instrument design
- The Instrumentation Senior Designer must have a good general knowledge of each design discipline and previous experience and competence in independently executing assigned design tasks in a role subordinate to Senior Designer
- In-Depth knowledge of INtools / SPI 2013 Intergraph product including capability to prepare Instrument Index, Specification Sheets, Instrument Loop Diagrams, Foundation Fieldbus Segment Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Wiring, Calculations, Drum Schedules and Instrument Hook-ups
- Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries and has engineering design experience on large projects
- Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications
- BS Engineering Degree or Associate of Applied Science with specialization in Instrumentation and computerized control systems or equal training / experience
Strong computer and database skills preferred
- Good communication and presentation skills
