At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation, and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
We are currently hiring a Project Manager to be based on our Project Site in a remote location in North West Saudi Arabia to lead our project team in the Owner’s Engineer role for our client on an onshore wind power generation project. This will including managing the project team during design and build and overseeing subcontractors as required: determining the resources required to complete the project, and assigning roles and responsibilities in collaboration with the regional leadership team and working closely with the client at every step of the project. This is a unique opportunity to work on an ambitious renewables project that sits firmly at the centre of our climate action strategy.
As Owner’s Engineer, your role will be to find unique solutions that reflect the circumstances and aspirations of the client, transfer knowledge from Consultant to the Client’s organization, deliver at pace and draw on technical expertise from Jacobs globally to benefit the client.
- You will be the key point of contact for the client and monitor all the work being conducted
- Act as the formal & main conduit of communication with the Client at senior levels associated with the Projects.
- Lead the project team and ensure on-time, on-budget completion of the Project in compliance with scope, technical and operational requirements
- Establishes and maintains excellent professional relationships with clients / stakeholders /regulators
- Present technical and strategic solutions to our clients
- Act as the main interface with the to monitor progress, challenge delays, and oversee quality and Safety. Develop & implement project plans & monitoring progress in respect of time, costs & quality.
- Manage all non-conformity issues, document these issues and initiate corrective action plans.
- Ensure that the highest standards of health, safety & environmental management are implemented.
- Lead initiatives in team culture, continuous performance improvement, and learning and development.
- Ensure effective communication and co-ordination between Functional Managers and the client team.
- Approve, interpret, and execute Jacobs policy, objectives, and standards applicable to the project;
- Implement & monitor systems & policies to ensure that projects are undertaken cost-effectively & in compliance with company policies & statutory obligations.
- Identify potential safety, cost, time, quality, procurement, or HR issues & taking corrective action
**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
- Degree qualified in Engineering with a Chartered status is preferred.
- Extensive experience as a Project Manager or Project Director within the wind energy industry is required.
- Experience working in the Middle East especially Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering complex projects in challenging environments from design to project close-out
- High level of client facing & stakeholder management skills
- Previous experience working for a Consultant on an Owners Engineer project will be a distinct advantage.
- Solid managerial and leadership skills, particularly within a multi-cultural professional environment
- Broad technical knowledge and hands on approach
