- Provides coordination activities in the following areas with the RS Maintenance manager: maintenance, inspection, cleaning and repair of metro vehicles and sub-system. Establishes and promulgates maintenance operating rules and regulations for the above mentioned Maintenance areas; assists in the planning and development, management and implementation of maintenance policies; ensures the enforcement of safety policies and programs reviewing problem or potential problem areas to ascertain the need for changes; develops scheduling and control procedures for maintenance under his/her own responsibility; coordinates maintenance work both within and external to the Office.
- Implements preventive, corrective, and overhaul programs for all subsystems under the authority of RS Maintenance manager as well as work and support equipment. Provides recommendations and assists in the development of corrective actions to be taken to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assists in supervising relevant sub-supplier’s staff.
- Coordinates and follows-up on procedures and rules for service, repair, and maintenance of subsystems under his/her responsibility in relation to the technicians.
- Prepares and presents oral and/or written reports/recommendations to the O&M Organization Management, as directed by the RS Maintenance Manager prepares periodic reports to determine possible problem, trends or other items of concern to be brought to the Management attention.
- Provides counsel and guidance, manages personnel and reviews performance appraisal evaluations in accordance with HR guidelines.
- Manages the resources assigned to the Office in order to optimize utilization of all resources, including personnel and non-personnel.
- Supervise training needs for all personnel and coordinates the implementation of effective training programs for all functions within the Office.
- Prepares annual and long-range forecasts of maintenance operational and capital activities for budgetary and other management purposes. Estimates staffing and material requirements, production efficiency and the need for improved equipment.
- Implements sound employee relations and practices within the parameters of the Maintenance Organization regulations.
- Assists in developing, planning, and implementing the department's preventive maintenance, component overhaul and rehabilitation and replacement program.
- Conducts special studies and investigations and acts as a trouble shooter as directed.
- Assists as Office deputy responsible for ensuring maintenance systems are developed to the state-of-the-art and are responsive to system and user needs.
- Perform related duties as requested by the RS Maintenance Manager.
