**Welder / Fitter**

Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the repair, and maintenance of marine vessels. Reporting to the Technical Superintendent.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Perform welding and fabrication tasks in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and plans to determine welding requirements.
- Prepare materials and workpieces by cleaning, cutting, and shaping them as necessary.
- Set up welding equipment, ensuring proper settings and safety measures are in place.
- Perform welding operations, such as arc, MIG, TIG, and spot welding, while maintaining accuracy and precision.
- Inspect welds and completed work for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to safety protocols.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing suggestions for process enhancement.
- Participate in vessels equipment and machinery repairs supporting ships crew.

**Qualifications** Job Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Welder/Fitter in the marine industry.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, including arc, MIG, TIG, and spot welding.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent understanding of welding safety practices and precautions.
- Physical dexterity and the ability to work in various positions and environments.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
- Relevant certifications and qualifications in welding are required.
- Well understanding of ships machinery and systems, experience in overhauling of engines, pumps, etc.
