We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chief Financial Officer for a new 120-bed tertiary care private hospital.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) directs the financial and other departmental activities in accordance with defined hospital policies and objectives. Responsibilities include management of all financial departments, allocation of resources, and preparation of the annual budget. Departmental responsibility typically includes Accounting, Reimbursement, Managed Care, Health Information, and Utilization Review. Functions at an executive level in an active leadership role. The CFO is responsible to the Hospital CEO, and maintains business relationships with the Division CFO, Hospital CEO, COO, and CNO.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**STRATEGIES**:

- Responsible for coordination and integration of all financial services of inter-departmental and intra-departmental services.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures and ensures that goals and objectives are consistent with hospital mission and for optimal performance.
- Forecasting the impact of business decision and expected outcomes on all financial results.
- Communicating financial operational performance with all stakeholders, including senior administration, appropriate facility staff members and Division Office.
- Makes recommendations to administration concerning means of reducing hospital operating costs and increasing of revenues, based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports, and industry operating procedures.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

**ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Devises and installs new or modified accounting systems to provide complete and accurate accounting of hospital assets, liabilities and financial transactions.
- Develops and revises accounting and patient revenue procedures for quality control and plans methods for insuring timely receipt of payments on patient accounts, reducing costs of accounting operations and expediting the flow of work.
- Monitors capital asset expenditures and depreciation; prepares annual operating budgets with input and involvement at the departmental level, as well as capital budgets and cash flow projections; arranges lines of credit and maintains proper banking relations; adheres to hospital corporate compliance standards and procedures.
- Prepares detailed analyses of financial statements to reflect variances in income, expenditures, and capital asset values.
- Arranges for audits of hospital accounts.
- Directs preparation of tax returns, government reporting and management reporting.
- Reviewing contracts, purchase agreements, and other financial arrangements to ensure compatibility with business goals and expectations about profitability.
- Responsible for organization of the finance committee concerning matters of equipment procurement and construction of (additional) facilities.
- Maintains adequate staff of qualified accountants and assistants to ensure departmental satisfaction with services.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field - required.
- Master’s degree - preferred.
- At least ten (10) years of Hospital Financial Management experience - required.
- Previous experience as a CFO in a hospital setting required.
- Previous work in a startup of a new hospital operation / hospital commissioning - desired.

**LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING**
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - highly desired.

- Knowledge of financial management, analysis, principles and techniques and managerial skills - required.
- Knowledge of financial markets (e.g., primary and secondary markets, monetary and fiscal policy, security analysis) - required.

- Skill in conveying to others the feeling that their work is valued and that they are important members of the team - required.

- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills on all levels (written and verbal) - required.
- Must have a strong presence, be dynamic, resilient, confident, and presentable.
