WSP is currently searching for an accomplished and experienced professional to join our team as a Specialist - Acoustics.
**Your new role, what's involved?**
- Conduct acoustic assessments and simulations for various environments, including buildings, outdoor spaces, and industrial sites.
- Design acoustic solutions to control noise levels, improve sound quality, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Create detailed acoustic models, drawings, and specifications.
- Manage acoustic projects from initial assessment through design, implementation, and testing.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate acoustic solutions into overall project designs.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Perform acoustic measurements and testing using specialized equipment and software.
- Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of acoustic treatments and solutions.
- Document and report findings, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure all acoustic solutions comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Stay updated on changes in acoustic regulations and best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Research and develop new acoustic materials, technologies, and methodologies.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in acoustic science.
- Promote and implement sustainable and environmentally friendly acoustic solutions.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical support and expertise on acoustic-related matters.
- Develop and deliver training on acoustic principles and practices.
**We'd love to hear from you if you have**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Sound Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or specialized training in acoustics is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in acoustic analysis, design, and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of acoustic principles, materials, and measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in using acoustic modeling and measurement software such as EASE, Odeon, SoundPLAN, or similar tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
