Job Description Summary

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Parsons team will be acting as the PMCM for the KAFD Monorail project.

The Project Manager - Civils will manage the Civils portion of the KAFD Monorail project as part of the PMCM team and will report to the PMCM Project Director. This will include management of the Main Monorail Contractor (Civils), stations contractors, management of HSE, project controls, commercial matters, quality, and sections of the work. The PMCM team will number approx. 20 people and we will be working closely with the site supervision consultant and design reviewer. The Client expects these 3 entities will form a seamless team in terms of managing the D&B contractors.

Will form a close working relationship with the PMCM Monorail System Project Manager to ensure all interface and integration aspects of the project are successfully managed and delivered.

Must be a team player willing to drive exceptional quality from the project including attention to detail.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical/business field and typically 18+ years of related work experience is required. Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as previous project management experience on similar or related projects. Professional registration may also be required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Incumbent must meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to and work with the Project Director.

Work with the PMCM team HSE lead to ensure all people involved in the project are aware of their responsibilities and act in a consistent manner in line with the requirements of the client, project and contracts.

Provides input to the team project management plan including scope definition, methodology, communications, meetings, recruitment, mobilisation, org charts, document control and other relevant details.

Liaise with the Client in an appropriate manner and react to all requests in a timeous way.

The Project Manager shall be capable of working with different agencies/departments like client, contractor, Site Supervision Consultants, construction department, etc.

Manages the commercial team to ensure all requirements are carried out to the timescales required and are completed in an accurate manner.

The Project Manager must be able to implement the Quality Management System on the project effectively.

Once project plans are issued follows the requirements of the plan to manage day to day activities but also looks for ways to improve the working systems.

Manages the process of periodic reporting as required in consultation with the project controls team. Provides direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional assistance as the situation warrants to ensure project completion per schedule and budget. This will include direction to other team members.

Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furtherance of the Quality Improvement Process. Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with policy and procedures.

Ensures that the site supervision consultant and design reviewer are working with the contractor to ensure proper coordination between the design staff and construction staff by maintaining clear and frequent communications. This should include the constructability reviews by the Construction team on the design produced.

Manage the project risk register and flag to management any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could affect project completion.

The Project Manager shall possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

The Project Manager should have prior experience with approvals from different Government/Regulatory bodies for the Project Execution

The Project Manager will complete other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate or directed.
