**Position Title**:Lead Specialist: Surveying**

**2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE**:
**Manage and perform all underground and surface survey related work and ensure compliance with Mining statutory and regulatory requirements.**

**3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:
**Qualification**:
**High school certificate with Maths and Science**

**Officialy recognised Survey certificate or diploma**

**Experience**:
**10 Years Mining experience (6 Years practical Surveyor experience)**

**Skills**:

- **Manage and ensure accurate survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites**:

- **Compile special area plans and information**:

- **Check sureys and closures**:

- **Coordinate boreholes**:

- **Achieve high excavation auracy by executing check surveys underground**:

- **Achieve accuracy of stock calculations**:

- **Compile, reconcile and report month end volumetric calculations**:

- **Design and update Mine layouts**:

- **Comply and ensure compliance with all applicable legal requirements**:

- **Co-ordinate nd control activities of surveyors**:

- **Prepare data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys**:

- **Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed**:

- **Ensure 100% effective management of water; Survey bodies of water to determine navigable channels and to secure data for construction of structures**:

- **Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments**:

- **Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, and other characteristics of terrain**:

- **Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy**:

- **Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys**:

- **Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features**:

- **Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS)**:

- **Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features**:

- **Analyse survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals**:

- **Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements**:

- **Contribute to development of and ensure adhere to criteria for survey methods and procedures**:

- **Strict adherence to HSEQR regulations, processes and procedures**:
