performs routine treatment planning, and treatment time/MU calculation for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Verifies patient's radiation treatment prescription and ensures that all input data needed to facilitate the delivery of the prescribed dose is accurately recorded in the patient's chart.
- Performs manual or computer treatment planning dose calculation for patients undergoing external radiation treatment or brachytherapy.
- Performs direct patient's dose delivery confirmation measurements using the thermoluminescent dosimeters or other available dosimetry system.
- Performs weekly chart checks for correctness of radiation dose delivery record and dose summation.
- Performs routine quality assurance tests on radiation treatment planning workstations and dose calculation computers.
- Assists Radiation oncologists during patient simulation to provide optimal patient treatment.
- Assists the immediate supervisor in job-related activities as assigned.
- Participates in Department/Unit specific and Hospital wide quality improvement plan preferred.
**Education**:
Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Physics or Radiation Therapy or related discipline from a recognized institution is required.
**Experience Required**:
Two (2) years of experience in Medical Dosimetry or related field with Master's, or four (4) years with Bachelor's Degree is required.
