Geotechnical Engineer

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, soil and rock sampling, and in-situ testing to assess subsurface conditions for earthwork projects.
- Perform geotechnical analyses and provide recommendations for excavation, embankment, slope stability, and foundation design.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop cost-effective and technically sound solutions for earthwork challenges.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, including data analysis, engineering analyses, and design recommendations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct construction monitoring and provide field engineering support during earthwork activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Advise on best practices and innovative technologies related to earthwork and geotechnical engineering to enhance project efficiency and safety.
- Evaluate geotechnical risks associated with earthwork projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project safety and success.
- Review and interpret geotechnical data from various sources, including laboratory testing results, geophysical surveys, and geological reports, to inform engineering decisions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to address geotechnical concerns, present findings and recommendations, and facilitate project approvals.
- Conduct geotechnical field reconnaissance and inspections to assess site conditions, identify potential hazards, and verify compliance with design specifications.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in geotechnical engineering to enhance project delivery and innovation.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and construction progress evaluations to ensure geotechnical requirements are met and project milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of geotechnical services and materials for earthwork projects.Support business development efforts by participating in proposal preparation, client presentations, and project pitches to showcase expertise in geotechnical engineering.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum 8 years of proven experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on earthwork projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software, such as slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to earthwork and geotechnical engineering.
