- Establishes aviation logistics support goals and milestones; provides vision, direction and supervision to achieve the established goals of the logistics support plan to improve aviation logistics support for the organization. Provides Senior Level Management with logistics solutions while managing the day to day technical aspects of the aviation logistics support of the organization. Highly skilled in Aviation Logistics and Technical Supply Chain Management; provisioning for the organizations’ expanding mission. Ensures that the aviation supply chain functional activities are planned, coordinated, integrated, synchronized to achieve the established operational readiness (OR) rates in accordance with contractual requirements.**Major Duties and Responsibilities**
- A. Duties/Responsibilities:
- 1. Administer supply chain operations, including requisition, approval and inventory of materials as well as supervision of staff.- 2. Primarily responsible for Receiving and Inspecting all materiel received and ensures Aviation Quality Standards are enforced in the identification and reduction of nonconforming and counterfeit repair parts.- 3. Management of all Classes of Supply (COS) requisitioned and received.- 4. Inspects materiel upon delivery to verify delivered items match order specifications; perform quality control; handle any delivery inconsistencies or delays; quarantine parts that fail inspection.- B. Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.
- C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides supervision, training and direction to GSE Logistics staff and MNG soldiers.**Minimum Qualifications**
- A. Education Level: High school graduate certificate or equivalent required. Associate Degree preferred, however a combination of experience and education can substitute for an Associate Degree.
- B. Experience: Minimum of five (3) years of broad-based experience in the fields of aviation supply, distribution, warehousing and packaging required.
- C. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements: Aviation supply chain experience required; Civil and Military Aviation supply certification or civilian equivalent desired. Three to Five Years Aviation Supply experience desired. Must demonstrate proficiency in understanding repair parts and common hardware and specifications of special metallurgical hardware and requirements. Must understand the Civil and Military part numbering systems and their meaning and specific use. Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Participates in meetings and conferences, as required. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to deal effectively with people in the supervision of students. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Strong organizational and work management skills. Possess a valid driver’s license.
