**Job Purpose**:
Develop, optimize, and maintain engineering plans based on strategic agenda and investment plans. Develop and execute / manage engineering projects at site to meet the proper efficiency, time, scope, budget, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction. Advise on new business cases based on process modifications. Develop drives a maintenance plan for site (asset integrity) to ensure reliability of process equipment and site infrastructure.

Ensure that all systems and processes which comes under his role of responsibilities are carried out in accordance with HSE, regulatory and operations guidelines. Define, prepare, lead and execute projects for development of new or improved products and processes, in line with business needs and project management methods and techniques.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Develop and realize maintenance year plan/budget for the assigned processes/installations/equipment, acquire approval and plan activities.
- Lead the asset integrity and Process safety framework on site or other areas assigned under his roles and responsibilities.
- Introduce and integrate new installations, equipment, products and/or processes in production.
- Analyze, prioritize, and execute preventive and/or corrective maintenance activities on assigned installations/equipment and/or manage contractors and ensure inspection of relevant installations/equipment.
- Collect, interpret, and edit (new) process related data and development and / or execute risk assessment of new installation/equipment and issue advice for needed changes at request or at on initiative.
- identify and evaluate bottlenecks in processes, installations, and equipment, make suggestions for improvement and ensure and monitor implementation after approval.
- Define, plan, manage and co-ordinate assigned (portfolio of) projects and ensure execution and delivery.
- Document (maintenance) activities performed on processes, installations, and equipment and/or provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses.
- Attract, lead, coach, appraise and develop employees, ensure staffing and stimulate talent (management)
- Functional excellence in local codes/ standard, total productive maintenance, manufacturing support, problem solving, project management and BBS.
- Executes applicable AkzoNobel policies, guidelines, processes, methodologies, working methods and system.
- Participates in and executes value improving practices.
- Ensure proper staffing, lead, coach, appraise and develop maintenance technicians, operators and staff as appropriate.
- Secure outsourcing to designated third party provider as needed and manages third party providers while on site.
- Manages a strong relationship with business units.
- Build and maintain a network within AkzoNobel HSE, ISC, CAPEX procurement, stake holders and contractors.
- Participate and lead or develop an engineering community in the region.

**Experience**:

- A degree in an Engineering discipline with 10+ years of similar role experience is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, influencing, result orientation, problem solving, and able to work without close supervision.
- Excellent English language skills are required for this role.
- Arabic and or Hindi spoken language would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Ability to lead a team effectively to achieve results.
- Organized and self-disciplined.
- Result orientated, problem solving, project management (affinity with Lean
- and six sigma principles)
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MS Project, and familiarity with PHA-Pro would be a plus.
- Expected to develop specialist skills through training as required - for example Hazard Study.
- Appropriate HSE training, for example HSE critical leadership.
