Nursery Homeroom Teacher

**Homeroom Teacher (Nursery - Year 2)**

Teachers must create lesson plans, incorporate technology, administer praise and constructive criticism, instruct and inspire students in Science, English, Arts and Math.

**Duties and responsibilities are**:

- Motivating and stimulating children’s learning abilities
- Encourage learning through experience
- Provide support to the children’s learning environment
- Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources
- Assist with the development of children’s personal, social and language abilities
- Help develop the children’s basic skills, including speech and communication
- Encourage children’s creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play
- Observing, assessing and recording each child’s progress
- Ensuring the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities
- Maintain and schedule weekly and monthly activities
- Participate in ongoing in service and education development opportunities
- Advise and cooperate with the Deputy Head/Coordinator and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programme, methods of teaching and lesson planning and assessment
- Register and monitor the attendance of students under one’s care
- Nurture a culture where teachers view themselves essentially as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners
- Make use of technology during the delivery of the lessons
