**Summary of Welder Duties & Responsibilities**

The Welder is responsible for production welding a variety of assemblies, and setup, operating and

light maintenance of production equipment.

**Key Responsibilities**

l Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

l Adhere to all safety policies and the use of all PPE and safe work practise.

l Adhere to project schedules and meet deadlines.

l Assess priorities to determine what is urgently needed.

l Conduct weld-ability tests on different types of metals.

l Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints, and work orders.

l Document work progress and maintain accurate welding records.

l Ensure compliance with established health / safety policies and regulations.

l Ensure compliance with welding codes, standards, and regulations.

l Estimate material and time requirements for welding projects.

l Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products.

l Execute instructions from job cards, weld schedules, part prints.

l Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welding equipment.

l Interpret and understand welding blueprints and specifications.
